Jase Robertson: ‘We Sense God’s Presence’ After Daughter’s Surgery
By Movieguide® Staff
DUCK DYNASTY’s Jase Robertson thanked fans for praying for his daughter, Mia, who underwent extensive jaw surgery earlier this week.
“We got to see Mia and, true to form, she is hanging tough after a 6 hour surgery,” Roberston posted to Instagram.
“She is in the ICU as planned. The team of doctors are amazing and feel ‘really good about the procedure.’ The hospital staff is top notch, and to all our friends and prayer warriors, Missy and I thank you. As believers we sense God’s presence and know His power is at work!”
Mia had surgery on March 17 where doctors cut both jaws and reset them in order to improve her overall health and speech.
Mia, now 17, was born with a a bilateral cleft lip and palate.
Mia underwent her first surgery at just 3 months old with another surgery at 7 months old.
The family started the Mia Moo Fund to help other families with children who have cleft lip and palates.
“Mia was born with a difficult challenge in her life. She has risen far above the expectations we had as parents. She now travels all over the country, speaking and singing to groups of people, encouraging them with her story of physical and emotional struggles. Watching how she deals with all of this in her life is difficult sometimes for us as parents, but she has become an inspiration to so many, including her daddy, her brothers and me. We couldn’t be more proud of Mia,” Missy Robertson said on the Mia Moo website.
