I’m sad when people die—I hurt for a family’s loss. But I’m even more sad if they did not know Jesus prior. Because even if they had a self-satisfying earthly life-loved by many-their ETERNAL life will be full of pain if they rejected Christ. The eternal loss of life hurts more.

This is not talked about enough because it’s not popular. But if it was spoken about more, it could help hit the switch in people’s minds to prioritize seeking Christ while they still have time. Death is awful; but death apart from Jesus is the worst that things could ever get.

The popular thing to do is carry the narrative that “everyone goes to heaven” no matter what. I wish that was true. It’s not. That only cheapens the work of Christ. Yes, it’s tough to keep it real about eternity, but if we believe scripture, we must lovingly share it’s truth. ??
