THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE (2023) is based on the iconic Nintendo video game of the same name and follows brothers Mario and Luigi, two plumbers from Brooklyn, New York. After a green pipe in the sewers transports them into a different universe, the brothers find themselves wrapped up in an evil plot by King Bowser. Bowser plans to kidnap and marry Princess Peach, take over the Mushroom Kingdom, and rule the universe. The movie has a strong moral message about brotherhood, sacrifice, and working together to defeat evil. Due to some intense animated action/violence, Movieguide® advises caution for younger children.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a delightful action comedy based on the beloved video game character from another planet who befriends a small-town policeman to evade a mad scientist hired by the government to find Sonic, the source of a massive accidental power outage. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a funny, heartwarming, uplifting comedy about finding and helping new friends, but there is some action violence and light but brief foul language.

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE, based on the popular video game, shows what happens when an angry, shunned bird, living uncomfortably among an island society of colorful flightless birds, tries to warn the other birds about a visiting group of green pigs, who have a secret, nefarious agenda. THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE has some funny, touching moments, with a strong moral worldview focused on controlling your anger, but it’s marred by rude humor, innuendo and destructive cartoon violence requiring caution.

JUMANJI is a game that lets wild animals on the loose in a New England town. Robin Williams and a talented cast play through to the end to stop the animal destruction. Though fantasy, it implies no false religion or occultism, but it may scare young viewers. JUMANJI creates a jungle and caution should be advised before entering it.

WRECK-IT RALPH is an animated movie about Ralph, a character in an arcade game who doesn’t want to be the “Bad Guy” anymore. WRECK-IT RALPH is an extremely funny, entertaining movie with a strong moral message that’s also redemptive, but caution is advised for some scatological humor and light action violence.

SPY KIDS is a James Bond adventure for children, starring Antonio Banderas as a father of two children who used to be a spy, along with the mother. SPY KIDS is a very imaginative family movie for older children, with a strong family message.

A MINECRAFT MOVIE is a live action fantasy adventure based on the bestselling video game, with a story about four misfits who pulled through a portal to Overworld, a world built of blocks and imagination, and who must work together to save Overworld from an evil and greedy queen who wants to create a dark world where there can be no joy or creativity. A MINECRAFT MOVIE is a funny, lighthearted fantasy adventure where people find meaning, strength and courage in friendship to fight evil, but the movie has lots of action violence, some light foul and crude language, a few scary images, and some rude humor, so caution is advised for older children and young teenagers.
